I adopted Clyde (formerly Rocket), a Russian Tortoise, in August of 2025! He’s brought so much fun into my family and my lives, and being able to provide a home for him and take care of a unique pet like him is probably one of my favorite things ever!

Roberta the red-eared slider was adopted from MATTS in 2009. The first picture is her first week in her new home. Her adopters ran into us a couple of years ago at the World of Pets Expo and she's still going strong.

Isadora is the largest slider we've ever had, literally tipping the scales at 7.2 POUNDS. Her shell is 11.75" long. She lived for years at a wastewater treatment plant as a wild turtle (no one knows how she got there), until she was caught in the "grinder," when a caring employee rescued her and asked us to find her a new home. She was in foster care for two or three years before the perfect home was found with a large backyard pond in an escape-proof yard. Isadora still thinks she's a wild turtle. She hibernated through her first winter in her new home and is thriving.

Adoption process went smooth and well organized, around the end of September 2025.
Warrior, an Eastern Box Turtle is now enjoying his new home!

A yellow bellied slider, Tizzie was adopted in 2017. She has been a joy to host. Neighbors know her and beg to come feed her dried shrimp by hand. Thanks, MATTS!
